Flat Earth

Flat Earth is the belief that geometric nature of the planet Earth is a plane. While this was a commonly held belief in the ancient world, there is a strong scientific consensus that the Earth is in fact a sphere or spheroid. Flat Earth is often accompanied with an elaborate conspiracy theory between the United Nations, Jews, NASA, and other nefarious organizations, governments and secret societies. Flat Earth is more common among right wingers, particularly those who believe in an Abrahamic faith such as Christians, although some Jews and Muslims also believe that the Earth is flat.

Physics

According to flat Earthers, the Earth doesn't revolve around the sun and the moon doesn't revolve around the Earth. Instead, the sun and the moon hovers in circles above the Earth's surface.

Often flat Earthers deny gravity in favor of an electromagnetic theory. Gravity is a myth and the reason that some objects sink while others float is due to density. It's not clear why density would matter if gravity doesn't exist.

Although the Earth is flat, flat Earth promotes the idea that it is covered by an invisible dome. The north pole is often located at the center of the dome, while the circumference of the dome is considered to be the south direction.

The reason why it is impossible to travel beyond the circumference of the Earth is because it is surrounded by a giant wall of ice. In addition, it is heavily protected by government entities to prevent civilians from discovering the true nature of the Earth.

Religion

There is a strong religious component to flat Earth. Many flat Earthers consider the Bible to be an infallable source of information regarding physical and historical claims about the nature of reality. They do not interpret scripture as allegory. Instead, they interpret it completely literally.

Many flat Earthers believe that NASA is a fake organization that fakes photographs of the Earth to give the illusion that it is a globe.

Flat Earthers believe that the moon-landing was staged, and that humans never travelled to space because it is blocked by an invisible dome.

Many non-flat-Earthers suspect that the recent resurgence in flat Earth is due to the work of subversive intelligence agencies. Promoting flat Earth could serve the purpose of confusing or distracting right wing individuals with low intelligence.
