@JFG please have a look at this page. How can we show different counterclaims? Can you recommend a study on the genetic influence on aggression and how different human races score on this genetic trait?

I think it is too early to get into the races and aggression kind of subject and anyways such an argument wouldn't directly relate to the historical question (unless someone out there can be quoted as saying "they attacked us first because of their genes"). The way to add counterclaims will be to list them in the Claims template at the bottom of the page by having CounterClaim1=... CounterClaim2=... however I've not yet programmed the template to loops through numbers so for now you can just list them with comas between each other under Counterclaim=Claim1, Claim2, etc... you should then create separate pages for the counterclaims for instance a page could be named "Germany is not responsible for World War I". I also intend to enrich the Claim template with new options (let me know if you have anything on your mind). For instance, looking at your text, there might not just be "Counter" claims, there might be alternative claims, incompatible claims, compatible claims, etc... "is responsible" -- this adjective 'responsible' has moral implications; it is a kind of moral judgement. Thus, the claim is ethical rather than factual. Perhaps we can render the claim as: "Germany initiated World War 1." This new claim can be supported by documents (i.e. a declaration of war, a conspiracy to initiate violence against other sovereign states, etc). Cyanide Taste Sampler (talk)

I agree with Cyanide Taste Sampler, though I'm not sure yet how we deal with claims of "responsible." That's not something I had expected as part of the encyclopedia. Will have to think about it. JFG (talk) 20:00, 22 January 2022 (UTC)
